Pulling Banana Tree

(By Jeremy L. Udjan, Department of Hotel & Tourism, Poltek NSC Surabaya)

When I was in junior high school, we usually went to the school field to do exercise on Saturday afternoon. But, one day, a friend and I didn’t take part in the activity. We had another plan.

There was a banana tree in the school garden. Its fruits were ripe enough to eat. We wanted to steal them. We went there and pulled the leaves in order to get the fruits.

“Pull …. Pull,” my friend said.

While we were busy pulling the leaves, the headmaster came. I saw him, but my friend didn’t. The headmaster came closer to my friend and took part in pulling the banana leaves. My friend didn’t realize that the headmaster changed my place.

“Pull …. Pull,” the headmaster said. So, the banana tree fell down. My friend felt something strange. “Why doesn’t Jeremy run and get thr fruits?” he thought. When he turned around he saw the headmaster watching him. Fortunately, he wasn’t angry with us.
